Common questions & what to know
Frozen pipes
When temperatures drop in the San Luis Valley, exposed pipes are at risk. Insulate pipes in unheated spots like basements, crawl spaces, and attics. Keep the house at a consistent temperature, and open cabinet doors so warm air reaches pipes under sinks. On the coldest nights, let faucets drip slightly. Heading out of town? Keep the thermostat at a reasonable level rather than turning it way down — or call us to winterize the property. If you suspect a pipe is already frozen, shut off the water supply and call us.
Leaking pipes
A small leak adds up — in your water bill, and in damage to your home if it goes unchecked. If something doesn't look or smell right, call us for a straight diagnosis and an honest repair.
Gas line repairs
A gas leak isn't something to wait on. If you suspect one, call us right away.
Sewer line repair & replacement
A broken sewer line is a real health risk, not just an inconvenience. Call us and we'll get it sorted.
Toilet, faucet, shower & tub repairs
Running toilet, wobbly seat, faucet that won't shut off — plenty of these are DIY-friendly. If you'd rather have a professional handle it, we're happy to help.
Water heater & furnace repairs
When a water heater or furnace quits, we can usually get it running again — or replaced — quickly.
Water heater maintenance
A water heater typically lasts 10–15 years, and annual maintenance extends that. Service includes flushing the tank, checking the anode rod, inspecting for rust or leaks, and testing the thermostat and valves.
Tank vs. tankless water heaters
Tank water heaters cost less up front and are simpler to install, but they heat water continuously and take up more floor space, and typically last 10–15 years.
Tankless units heat water on demand — more energy-efficient, more compact, and often last up to 20 years — for a higher installation cost. We install and service both.
